A couple Tacoma Public Utilities customers have received telephone calls from a person claiming to be a utility employee. The caller says the customers' checks for bills are no good and tries to obtain credit card information.
Please be advise that TPU does not call customers about bad checks and does not call customers for credit card information. Customers receiving concerning calls like these can telephone our call center at (253) 502-8600 to speak with a customer service assistant during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for questions and information or to report possible scams.
