Tacoma Power customers can expect credit on next bill

Tacoma Power customers who had open, active accounts both in 2007 and on Dec. 31, 2008 can expect a credit on their next utility bill, as part of a refund settlement with the Bonneville Power Administration. Credits will begin tomorrow and go through May 4.

Credit amounts will vary because they are based on electrical usage, but most customers will receive a credit equal to about one-half of an average months’ electric bill.

The Tacoma Public Utility Board voted in November to return approximately $15 million that it received from the Bonneville Power Administration for overpayment.

Tacoma Power asks that customers show patience as they wait for the credits on their bills. If customers have questions about their refunds, they should call (253) 502-8555 or visit mytpu.org/bparefunds.
