• Please be kind to the Taidnapam Park septic system – do not use RV holding tank chemicals.

No Reservations

Available campsites that have not been reserved are available for one-night “walk-in” stays between Sept. 16 and May 14.

Taidnapam Park not only has year-round camping and a day-use area, but it also has a fun, free, family-friendly scavenger hunt featuring a special character: Frank the Fish!

As the “tail” goes, Frank the Fish has many forest friends, but when a storm hit the park, they went missing and we need help finding them – their faces are in the trees around the park! Starting Memorial Day weekend and running through Labor Day weekend, children can stop by the park booth and get a map on which they can mark the locations of Frank’s friends as they find them. All children who finish the scavenger hunt can exchange their map for a small prize.

Frank’s Forest Friends include everything from a grumpy old troll to 11 friendly faces in the trees. The locations change each year, creating a delightful family tradition that can be revisited for years to come.

Day Use

Day-use parking costs $10 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.

Driving Directions

Taidnapam Park is about 110 miles south of Tacoma in Lewis County, near the town of Morton. From Tacoma, take I-5 south to Highway 12 East (Exit 68). Drive east on Highway 12 for approximately 37 miles (5 miles past Morton). Turn right on Kosmos Road, then left onto Champion Haul Road. Drive approximately four miles to the park entrance.

An alternate route from Tacoma is to take Highway 7 south to Morton. At Morton, turn left onto Highway 12 and drive 5 miles. Turn right on Kosmos Road, then left onto Champion Haul Road. Drive approximately four miles to the park entrance.
