June 24, 2024

Last week, Tacoma Power employees recovered 319 spring Chinook adults, 160 spring Chinook jacks, eight spring Chinook mini jacks, and 226 summer-run steelhead adults over four days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator.

During the past week, Tacoma Power employees released 109 spring Chinook adults and 88 spring Chinook jacks into Lake Scanewa at the Day Use Park and they released 86 spring Chinook adults and 36 spring Chinook jacks into the upper Cowlitz River at Franklin Bridge.

As of Friday, June 21, 2024, Tacoma Power has recycled a total of 859 summer-run steelhead and 359 spring Chinook adults this season to the I-5 boat launch in Toledo.

River flow below Mayfield Dam is 5,100 cubic feet per second on Monday, June 24, 2024. Water visibility is 7 feet and water temperature is 50.9F. River flows could change at any time so boaters and anglers should remain alert for this possibility.
