Cowlitz Fish Report

March 31, 2025

Last week, Tacoma Power employees recovered 737 winter-run steelhead adults, three spring Chinook adults, and one cutthroat trout adult over five days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator.

During the past week, Tacoma Power employees released 66 winter-run steelhead, one spring Chinook, and one cutthroat trout into Lake Scanewa near Randle and they released 62 winter-run steelhead into the Tilton River at Bremer Bridge.

Tacoma Power released 34 winter-run steelhead at Franklin Bridge in Packwood.

River flow below Mayfield Dam is 9,470 cubic feet per second on Monday, March 31, 2025. Water visibility is 5 feet and water temperature is 45 degrees F. River flows could change at any time so boaters and anglers should remain alert for this possibility.
