Approximately $4 million is available by grant from the Department of Ecology for the purchase and installation of publicly accessible direct current fast chargers (DCFC) for electric vehicles along high-traffic corridors in Washington. This is a great opportunity for businesses and local government facilities to invest in DCFC at a greatly discounted rate!
The grant prioritizes areas that have a high level of diesel pollution and are located within 1.5 miles of a high traffic corridor. These areas include I-5, and highways 16, 512 and 705. Pierce County is also an Air Quality Priority County with many communities who have experienced a disproportionate amount of impact due to diesel exhaust and poor air quality, putting many of our businesses in a prime location for grant funding.
Eligible applicants include:
- Businesses
- Incorporated nonprofits
- State, local, or Tribal government agencies

Applicants must submit their application by March 10, 2020 and use the Department of Ecology’s grant and loan application system.
