Last week, Tacoma Power employees recovered 112 winter-run steelhead adults, 241 spring Chinook adults, 36 spring Chinook jacks, and 15 summer-run steelhead adults over five days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator.

During the past week, Tacoma Power employees released 21 winter-run steelhead adults, 93 spring Chinook adults, and 26 spring Chinook jacks into Lake Scanewa at the Day Use Park and they released 21 winter-run steelhead adults into the Tilton River near Morton.

They also released three winter-run steelhead adults, six spring Chinook adults, and one spring Chinook jacks into the upper Cowlitz River at Franklin Bridge.

River flow below Mayfield Dam is 5,160 cubic feet per second on Monday, May 6, 2024. Water visibility is 9 feet and water temperature is 45.7F. River flows could change at any time so boaters and anglers should remain alert for this possibility.
